Introduction to Revolvers This course of instruction is designed to provide the participant with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude to properly utilize a revolver. This program represents the absolute minimum skill, which anyone who carries a revolver for personal-defense or protection must know.
Topics covered:
· History of the Revolver · Basic safety and the laser rule · Overview and operation of the Revolver · Double vs. Single action · Ease of checking loaded condition · ‘Snubbie’ vs. duty length, etc. · Capacity – ammunition types, versatility (.38 Special, .357 Magnum) · Stock/grips · ‘Dirty Harry’; Hollywood cylinder slam · Operational level nomenclature, maintenance, lubrication · Deployment: Target shooting / Self-defense / Ammunition choices · Concealed carry: Holster (IWB, pancake, pocket, ankle, shoulder) · Spare ammunition (carriers, etc) · The five point draw · Basic combat shooting fundamentals · Loading and unloading – speed loaders, moon clips, Bianchi speed strips · Snubby = extra training, “carry a lot not shoot a lot’ myth

Ammunition: 200 rounds
Equipment required: One revolver or snub revolver, speed loaders / moon clips, good quality holster, eye and ear protection and hat with a brim. Rental of a revolver is available upon request for a small fee.
