Description:
This program is designed to provide the participant with an introduction to the use of a flashlight and shooting tactics within a low-light environment. Recognizing that the vast majority of attacks or hostile encounters will occur within this environment, the need to have the proper knowledge, skill and attitude to apply tactics and techniques cannot be overstated. Location / Times: Camp Connecticut, Colchester, CT. – 3:00pm – 10:00pm (See Below) Topics covered: Some of the core topics covered within this course of instruction include:
Ø Weapons Safety, Handling and The Laser Rule Ø Basic Fundamentals of Low-Light shooting and tactics Ø Low-Light environments and the human eye Ø Deployment and use of mounted / non-weapon mounted flashlights (Open) Ø Deployment and use of mounted / non-weapon mounted flashlights (Cover) Ø Weapon transitioning, target identification and multiple targets within a Low-Light environment Ø Tactical movement within a Low-Light environment Equipment requirements: Each participant within this program will be required to have the following equipment:
Ø Wrap around Eye / Ear Protection Ø 1 Handgun / Minimum 3 magazines Ø 1 AR15 style rifle (Others will be permitted on a case by case basis) Ø 1 Master side “On the Waist” holster Ø 1 Double magazine pouch Ø 200 rounds handgun ammunition Ø 200 rounds rifle ammunition Ø 1 Handheld flashlight with “End-Cap” actuator (Recommend a 2nd as a back-up) Ø Extra Batteries Ø 1 Mounted flashlight on long-arm (Recommended) Ø Note taking materials (Recommended)
Ø All other equipment will be provided and rental gear is available in necessary Special instructions: Due to the nature of this program, specific safety rules and protocols must be implemented and used. Therefore, ALL PARTICIPANTS within this program are required to be on-site at 3:00 pm sharp or earlier as a safety briefing will begin immediately following course registration being completed and any of the academic portion of the program begins. Any participant who is NOT on-site and misses any portion of the safety briefing will NOT be permitted to participate within the program and will forfeit their course tuition. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this requirement.
