This course of instruction is designed to teach the participant the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude to properly utilize a pistol within an operational environment. Generally only applicable to law enforcement, military, or other specialized personnel, the principles learned can be applied to the operations of security personnel within specialized areas of operation.

The main training methodology of this program is based upon what is known as a building block approach where the drills, techniques, and tactics, and stress levels are built upon each other in a gradual form.

Some of the core components of this program include:

  • Weapon safety, handling, and nomenclature.
  • The laser rule
  • Basic shooting fundamentals
  • Drawing from the concealed position
  • Controlled pairs vs. hammers
  • Reloads & stoppages
  • Handgun deployment while seated
  • Cover vs. concealment
  • One hand shooting
  • The effects of a projectile on living tissues
  • Engagement of multiple targets
  • Transitioning to the "Secondary or Back-Up Weapon"
  • Introduction to weapon retention
  • Introduction to "Low-Light" engagements
  • Moving targets
  • Introduction to "Room Clearing"
  • Firing on the move
  • Alternate shooting positions
  • Deployment of distraction devices
  • More

The duration of this course is 40 hours and requires 800 rounds of pistol ammunition. The total cost of this program is $500.00 plus ammunition per person (Note: a discount of 15% will be given on all ammunition purchases made through Grey Wolf Training Specialists, Inc.)
